Help Friends of Romano Lav to organize a beautiful Christmas Party for Roma families in Govanhill.
St Nicholas Day in Central and Eastern Europe;
St Nicholas Day is celebrated in Central and Eastern Europe on the 6th of December and Roma people celebrate it as well.
It is a tradition when during the night between 5-6 December, children put their shoes or boots outside a window or balcony and they find some sweets there from St. Nicholas in the morning.
They usually have the Christmas social events on the 6th of December where St. Nicolas comes to have fun with children, dance with them and gives them small presents (sweets and chocolates).
Help us to bring St Nicholas Day to Govanhill!
We are planning an amazing St. Nicholas Day on Saturday, 10th December for children in Govanhill area of Glasgow. This area experiences a complex range of social and economic challenges and is considered one of the most deprived zones in Scotland.
Many families living in this area cannot afford to buy gifts for their children or organize a Christmas evening.
We aim to address this by organising a beautiful day, where everybody is welcome and can join in the festivities… as well as receiving a little gift from Santa, too!
How you can help?
With your help, we can achieve this and bring St Nicholas Day to Govanhill. We want to ask you to help us to raise funds to buy 250 gifts, refreshments, hire a hall and entertainment for this event.
Our goal is to raise £1000, but every little contribution can make a big difference and any kind of help is welcome. If you can donate money towards buying toys and food or donate them, we can make this happen!
To donate money: you can transfer to Friends of Romano Lav account:
